This weekend I stretched outside my usual box regarding food.
Salt and Pepper Chicken wings, it was a little more labor intensive than I planned. I thought they were delicious! The hubs after giving me a hard time about them admitted they were good. Probably not a weekly meal but, great for a once a month feed.
For breakfast this am I decided to try a frittata.
Looks good, tastes good for a first attempt.
- 4 eggs
- lb. sausage
- 2 Serrano peppers
- 1/4 onion
- 2 mushrooms
- salt and pepper to taste
bake in 350 oven for 10 mins then broil for 2 mins.
Next time I believe 5 eggs, if I had a smaller cast iron skillet the 4 would have been plenty but, the bigger skillet needs more eggs.
I want to try fermenting some pickles and or jalapenos. I have read that fermented food is great for your body. It provides beneficial bacteria to your guts that you can’t get anywhere else. kefir and kumbucha also do the trick. After being on antibiotics for my infected tooth I need help with my gut.
Do you step out of your food rut? Do you ferment?
