Composting

In my quest to be healthier I would like to try composting.  Putting a little back into the earth and a little less in the landfills.  That certainly sounds healthy.  My dilemma is what kind

Just a compost bin that can take up to 2 years to deliver the good stuff for my garden.

Chickens that are multi-purpose, you can get eggs,Yummy, and give them the table scraps.  There is a third option on the table

                                  worms3

a worm farm.  They can produce fertilizer in about 6 months and they also provide worm tea which keeps the bugs off  your plants.

So, there is my dilemma.

WHAT DO YOU THINK?  IS ONE OPTION BETTER THAN ANOTHER?

  1. Valarie says:

I like chickens. They eat all the table scraps that the dog doesn’t like. They give eggs, entertainment, (Jake has one trained to perch on his shoulder), they eat bugs, and make fertilizer. The downfalls are they are racoon magnets, if they free range in your yard they are quite destructive, and can be noisy. Even hens cackle and squawk when they lay eggs. I’ve heard ducks aren’t as destructive but haven’t ever had them.
