Nerd vs. Geek

I am into techy things, I have an iPhone, Kindle fire, Xbox 360, PSP, Gameboy,  2 computers in the house and I would have an ipad if I could afford it.  I also help my co-workers fix their computers.  Knowing this got me thinking, am I a Nerd or a Geek?  So, I turned to Webster’s online Dictionary for some definitions.

nerd

: an unstylish, unattractive, or socially inept person; especially : one slavishly devoted to intellectual or academic pursuits <computer nerds>

geek

1: a carnival performer often billed as a wild man whose act usually includes biting the head off a live chicken or snake

2: a person often of an intellectual bent who is disliked

3: an enthusiast or expert especially in a technological field or activity <computer geek>

I do not think I qualify for the circus performer, although I can juggle lots of activities.  I might be geek #2 but, no one tells me how disliked I am so not going to pick that option Smile.  I will pick #3, not an expert but, an enthusiast.

For those that know me what is your choice?   How about you?  Are you a nerd or a geek?  Should I hit up the urban dictionary for better definitions?
